WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT SURGERY

Surgical Planning and Next Steps

After your consultation, if you and Dr Tudor decide to proceed with surgery, our team will promptly organise all necessary arrangements. You’ll be provided with a proposed theatre date, scheduled according to both availability and your preferences.

You will also receive a comprehensive surgical pack that guides you through each stage of your surgical journey.

This pack includes:
Pre- and Post-Operative Appointments: A schedule of all required appointments before and after surgery, helping you stay on top of your consultations, tests, and follow-up visits.

Post-Operative Instructions: Personalised care guidelines for your specific procedure, including advice on wound care, medication management, and general recommendations for recovery.

What to Bring to the Hospital: A simple checklist of items to bring on the day of your surgery—such as comfortable clothing, personal hygiene essentials, and any relevant documents.

Surgical Quote: A clear and detailed estimate of your surgical costs, including payment options, insurance information, and any potential additional expenses.

Condition Information: Educational materials explaining the condition being treated, its causes, symptoms, and treatment options, enabling you to better understand your diagnosis.

Admission Details: Information for your hospital admission, including check-in time, location, preparation guidelines, and what to expect upon arrival.

Our goal is to ensure you feel fully prepared and informed at every stage. If you have any questions, please reach out to the SEQ team—we're here to help.

Post-Operative Care and Follow-Up

Our clinic nurse will contact you about one week after surgery to check your progress and address any early concerns. This ensures your recovery is on track and that you receive support during the initial stages of healing.

Around two weeks post-surgery, you will have appointments with our practice nurse and Dr Tudor for a detailed review. This visit includes a physical examination and discussion of your surgery and recovery progress.

Please note: the timing of these appointments may vary depending on your specific procedure and recovery needs. Our team will tailor your follow-up schedule to provide the most appropriate and personalised care.

If you have any questions about your recovery or need to adjust your appointments, please contact our team at any time.
